STAR Academy is the Grand Strand's premier sensory learning center and inclusive indoor playground where ALL children of all ages and abilities are welcome to play, learn, and thrive. Founded by educator Joanne Wolk, who brings over 30 years of experience in special education and crisis intervention, STAR Academy features state-of-the-art sensory equipment, hand-designed furniture, and specialized toys that engage multiple senses while sparking imagination, creativity, and learning. The center offers open play sessions in their beautiful sensory gym, enrichment classes including Ready-Set-Go Preschool and Family & Me programs, therapy services, summer camps, after-school programs, and special events—all in a warm, welcoming, and supportive environment.
